Tax filing season officially starts on Jan. 24, one of four key tax dates the IRS announced on Jan. 10. On Jan. 24, the IRS will begin accepting and processing 2021 tax returns. So, if you are an early bird, you can submit your return in about two weeks. Those who plan to file as soon as possible will be glad to know that the IRS Free File program will be open for business on Jan. 14.
